CV - VICTORIA THOMEN

Dominican-Italian visual artist, photographer, architect, and cultural manager. Her practice focuses on memory, landscape transformation, ecology, and the relationship between human beings and their environment. She has exhibited internationally across Europe, the United States, and Latin America, participating in biennials, festivals, and curatorial programs at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, the Durrës Biennale, PHotoESPAÑA, and the Venice Biennale (screening). She lives and works between Madrid, Rome, and Santo Domingo.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work investigates the relationship between body, territory, and memory, using media such as photography, video art, installation, and new technologies. I am interested in how nature and everyday objects can become symbolic languages through which to explore social transformation, displacement, resilience, and ecological urgency.
