'EVANESCO' Etymology: Compound of ē (apocope of ex, "out") and vānēscō ("disappear")

 "EVANESCO" is a series of photographs, both analog and digital, that delve into an intimate aspect of my personal life. Each stage of my life is portrayed through characters who once shared close emotional and intimate connections with me. I draw inspiration from how, over time, the essence of these individuals—their significance in my life or their most notable qualities—remains etched in my "memory," while their physical attributes may fade.

In these photographic compositions, I replace the individuals with the ideas and concepts they embody, which remind me the most of them. The alteration of these candid captures may indeed modify the original intention of the moment, but it elevates them beyond the temporal realm.

 The substitution redirects the viewer's attention towards other details present in the images, prompting them to seek reasons and interpret the contrasting and discordant elements within the frame— the spaces that were previously occupied by the expected focal point. The sole constant in these photographs is myself: a portrayal of my own evolving self through time.
